‘Sonic the Hedgehog’ Pushed Back 3 Months to Rework Lead Character’s Look

‘Sonic the Hedgehog’ Pushed Back 3 Months to Rework Lead Character’s Look
The live-action “Sonic the Hedgehog” movie has been pushed back so that the visual effects artists can make adjustments to Sonic’s character, the film’s director Jeff Fowler announced on Twitter Friday.

It will now open Feb. 14, 2020 after being originally slated to be released Nov. 8 of this year.

Fans of the video game character were highly critical of the speedy blue hedgehog’s fur, his eyes, and most notably his human-looking teeth.

“Taking a little more time to make Sonic just right,” Fowler tweeted along with the hashtag “No VFX artists were harmed in the making of this movie.”

Sonic, as seen in the first trailer for the film, has individual strands of animated fur, a giant head, long, lanky legs, two far apart eyes that drastically differ from the classic mono-eye drawing of the video game character, and even human teeth.

Quentin Tarantino Says He May Recut ‘Once Upon a Time in Hollywood’ to Make it Longer
Quentin Tarantino is not wedded to the Cannes cut of “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.” He and editor Fred Raskin worked hard to finish it in time to world premiere at his favorite festival on May 21, and Tarantino told me he wouldn’t have shown it if he wasn’t ready. As soon as he was sure he could deliver, festival director Thierry Fremaux alerted the news. But even if Sony struck three wet 35mm prints of the two-hour, 39-minute Cannes version, Tarantino can still go back into the editing room, Sony chairman Tom Rothman confirmed at the premiere. A decade back, Tarantino re-edited “Inglourious Basterds” after Cannes, as well.

“I may make it longer,” said Tarantino at the Hotel Carlton, the day after audiences first saw the movie that proved to be the hottest ticket of this year’s festival by far. Raskin’s first assembly was four hours,

Arnold Schwarzenegger gave a surprise Reddit Ama on Thursday in which he shared an idea he had for his 1985 action film “Commando” that was so wild and violent that bringing it up got him thrown out of producer Lawrence Gordon’s office.

Schwarzenegger went to Reddit to share the trailer for “Terminator: Dark Fate,” which could technically get your post deleted if you’re involved in the thing you’re promoting, but the fact that it was Schwarzenegger himself sharing it surprised the crowd of Redditors.

Arnie ended up answering a variety of questions, ranging from giving to advice for younger generations and how his back is doing after he was attacked in South Africa.

But when he was asked about how unexpectedly funny “Commando” was, Schwarzenegger said he wanted to delve even deeper into the topic.

Yg’s Flexing, Taunting ‘4Real 4Real’ Doesn’t Live Up to the Rapper’s Previous High Standards
After Nipsey Hussle died, Yg spoke at his memorial at the Staples Center, called him “black motherfucking Jesus” during an emotional Coachella set, and delayed the release of his own album. Their friendship was a close one that transcended gang ties; they spoke truth to power on the defining political protest song of our time, “Fdt,” a mafioso g-funk middle-fingers-raised eruption of disbelieving rage that combined Yg’s knack for agitation with Nipsey’s view that life for black folks in South Central is a marathon test of never-ending endurance.

Kanye West Slams Liberals for ‘Bullying’ Trump Supporters in David Letterman Interview

The Daily Beast today published a preview of David Letterman’s interview with Kanye West — which addresses music, fashion, West’s late mother and of course his much-criticized support of President Trump — on his Netflix show, which begins streaming next Friday, May 31. The article praises the hour-long session as “not only one of the best interviews Letterman has ever conducted, it’s also one of the most coherent and engaging interviews Kanye has ever given, even if it does go off the rails at times.” That may be the case, although there is scant evidence of it in the excerpts published today.

ABC’s Farrah Fawcett special was the night’s most-watched show. On NBC, its annual “Red Nose Day” special added viewers but slipped in the key demo.
